Mrs Karen McNamara MP, Federal Member for Dobell, is pleased to announce the region will be a recipient of $10 million under the National Stronger Regions Fund for the development of the Tuggerah Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex.
Working closely with Wyong Shire Council, this funding announcement continues to build upon an initial election commitment of $1 million from Mrs McNamara MP to begin the initial design phase of the project.
“I have been fighting for this development from day one as a candidate,” Mrs McNamara said. “We have such a strong sporting community here on the Central Coast and I’m so proud to be able to have delivered them a first class sporting precinct.”
None of this would have been possible however, without the support and dedication from Wyong Shire Council.
“The Federal Government has recognised the professionalism and attributes of Wyong Shire Council who have helped bring this project to fruition,” Mrs McNamara said. “Now we can work together to provide a world class sporting facility right here in Dobell.”
The economic benefits the Tuggerah Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex will create and sustain in Dobell will provide a flow on effect for job creation now and in the future.
In addition, the creation of a cohesive sports community that embodies social connectivity will only build upon the fantastic sporting culture currently alive and well in Dobell.
“The Tuggerah Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex will bring regional, national and world wide sporting events to the area,” Mrs McNamara said. “Dobell is well on its way to becoming the sports capital of NSW.”
Minister for Major Projects, Territories and Local Governments, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, was on hand today in Dobell to help make this Delivering for Dobell announcement.
This latest funding brings the amount of funds Karen McNamara MP has delivered to Dobell since her election to over $111 million – and continues to grow.
